The Declaration of Intent

Just what is meant by ‘your word?’ It means your conscious intention, your conscious direction, your conscious faith and acceptance that, because of what you are doing, the Power of Spirit will flow through your word in the direction you give It. ~Ernest Holmes

Say what you mean and mean what you say. What is the truth behind the words you speak? Do you say one thing and mean another?  Allowing your heart to lead you is living with intention.

Do you wake up in the morning and think you’d like to experience a peaceful day, or do you wake up with the intent of spreading and living in peace? It is true we reap what we sow. If one wishes to paint a portrait or write a book, one must first pick up a paintbrush or a pen. Dreaming of the future without taking action toward it does not create it. One must live intentionally to accomplish his goals.

Intention carries powerful repercussions. When you make a point to become intentional, your actions become your life.

Everyone has the power to live his dream. It only takes determination.

Intention. It is the first step into your future. Do with it what you may, but know you own it.

  1. ” Do with it what you may, but know you own it.”

Great finish, Suzi, and I agree! And not only with our own lives, but also when we say that we’re going to do something for someone else and follow through with it by being a person of your word.

Love the photo you used with this post!

  2. I needed this message today, Suzi. Needed to be reminded that, regardless of how much we say we want something, intention and action are necessary to accomplish what we dream and desire. Love your irises!

  3. Exactly right. If we don’t have the life we want, we need to start making changes . . . because it’s not going to land in our lap.

The more I focus on finding a calm, centered way of living, the more calm and centered life has become!

  4. Say what you mean, mean what you say. It’s advice that all of us could use. Starting with that single maxim everyday can create a lasting impact.

  5. I have come to realise that the only person who wants to hear my truth is me, everyone else would like to continue to live the lie they have always lived. But you are right if you want to move forward in your life you have at least to be true to yourself.

  6. This is good sound advice. Simplest truth of all – but difficult to follow through with at times. You mean if I want to write – I have to pick up a pen?? Why does that escape me some days?

  7. One must live intentionally to accomplish his goals. I love this line. So many people think life owes them and don’t realize they need to participate if they want to reap its benefits! A wonderful way to begin my day…thanks! 🙂

  8. Wow! That is a cell phone shot?! Super. Love this post. I was thinking how great it was for ME, like a little motivational post, then it occured to me that it can apply to politicians (I am spending the entire weekend researching candidates for our up coming election on Tuesday. UGH!!). Thanks for this post!

  9. “If one wishes to paint a portrait or write a book, one must first pick up a paintbrush or a pen. Dreaming of the future without taking action toward it does not create it”

I hate, and love, these words.. I’ve been so busy caught up in the thoughts (the dreams) of the future that I’ve been forgetting to pick up the pen and create it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you..

  10. Beautiful message. Yes declaration of intent is a forceful version of a vision. It clears the mind of clutter and we know exactly what to do and what not do.

Thank you and regards. Cheers 🙂
