At The End Of The Day

After a day in the fields of life,

I just want to smell the earth of you

And mingle in the sweat of your bones.

I want to revel in this quiet moment,

In this sacred trust that is ours.

I collapse into the curve of you

And nestle your breath into my heart.

I lift up a silent prayer of thanks

For this love and life of ours.

This is my entry for One Shot Wednesday.

  1. I so love the works of Van Gogh, so much in art we tried to get an understanding of. Such a beautiful gentle placement in your words, life can be so hard-worked and tiring…the shared in love, far greater a reward than any…Lovely writing! ~April

  2. What a beautiful portrayal of everyday life. I think Vince would have liked it too.

    Nice One Shot

Just a reminder that we would love you to enter the One Stop Competition (ends oct 22).

  3. I often find it very difficult to engage in poetry, but the words instantly provided me with a visual and I’m not sure if it is because of those 3 years I was addicted to Historical Romances written By Johanna Lindsey, and so my brain is well trained!

Either way, I very much relate – beautifully written, Thanks for sharing

    Miss Lou
