Here are a few more pics from the airshow we attended last month.

First plane to successfully cross the English Channel

No, I would never have been brave enough to fly in that thing!

Some type of contraption that cranked the engine

I didn’t get many good air shots as I’m not quick enough.
Now, onto some cars….

Spectacular! What cool planes to see and take pics of. Love how well they have been taken care of.
The ones in the museum have been restored, but the ones flown were replicas…can’t fly the originals due to safety factors.
This is so fun to see how they used to look. Not sure I’d want to fly in them though! Actually I am sure that I would NOT.
I wasn’t sure how much I’d enjoy the show, but I must say it was fabulous!
We have a aviation museum here too and it’s magnificent. Your photos are awesome, Suzicate! I adore the vintage cars too!
Those vintage cars are the coolest.
Oooooo….I love the vintage planes and cars. What a fun way to spend the afternoon.
It was a great day!
I roamed lovingly through this collection. Thanks!
I remember it used to be quite a risky business cranking those propellers to start the engine. One had to bring the hand out of the way VERY smartly!
I really wish I could have shared more but figured not everyone would want to see them. I took about 150 photos. One thing I really loved looking at and photographing was the insignias on each plane.I couldn’t help but wonder the story behind each one. We did hear the story behind one of them, possibly Fokker, can’t remember who for sure.
I do imagine every one of them has a fascinating history.
Wow, Suzi, these are like the coolest, coolest, coolest photos!!!
It’s like stepping back in time!
“No, I would never have been brave enough to fly in that thing!”
HA! Me neither!
Love the shots of the cars too. Especially that BIG black one. WOW!
Thanks for sharing, my friend. Muchly enjoyed!

Amazing the bravery of these men! So glad you enjoyed them.
These beautiful old pieces of history remind me that there is some good in newer technology.
Yes, it is, but I guess they had to start somewhere, lol!
Gorgeous shots, Suzi. Loved the planes and the cars. We have a Classic Car Museum in Sarasota with some beauts! Including John Lennon’s Rolls Royce.
Now that would be cool to see!
Not sure I’d want to ride/fly in some of those, either!
Definitely too scary!
so many cool pictures of cool things i think i like that boat car the most
These vintage pictures are really cool. Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome, Rudri.
