“Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain.” ~Henry David Thoreau
A Magnolia blossom looks entirely different to a feasting insect than it does to an admiring passerby.
From a distance a mountain appears enormous. Once you begin the climb, you only see trees, rocks, ground, and sky…the mountain is gone.
One step at a time, you push on. Eventually, you get where you’re going.
Once you get there and look back it never looks the same.
Don’t be afraid to attempt great things.
Don’t be afraid to be the bug on the blossom.
Life is a sweet reward.

Great advice! But I have to admit bugs creep me out
Bugs don’t creep me out nearly as much as spiders!
good one! Thank you Suzi.. One step a time… yes I need this reminder!
Slowly but sure
And I got it from your post
Sometimes slow is better…we get to enjoy the view along the way!
life is, indeed, a sweet reward, we need to remind ourselves of that , especially during those times when the mountain seems unscalable or we get lost in the details.
Yes, those are the times we do need to remember.
When I read the title, I thought this post might be about mosquitoes. Phew….
Ha…this bug’s not eating you, just the magnolia blossom!
Proof that it’s all in the viewpoint. . . .
Isn’t it though?
Gaaa! Another bug in a post! My heart is throbbing. But your words are beautiful.
Ha, I promise not to let it bite you!
It kind of makes me sad to see this bug destroying such a beautiful blossom. I know he’s got to eat, but why can’t he eat something ugly (broccoli, for instance?!)
Ha…it was too far to go to the garden!
Interesting perspective!
What a fantastic shot! Great little article too!
I liked the way the pic turned out.
So much magnolia, so little time……
Ahhh, love it.
Nice picture! I liked your advice to not be afraid of being a bug on blossom (I’ll try not to think about the fact that bugs often get squashed
)
Ha, good idea not to think about that part!
I love this fresh perspective – so very true!
It is, isn’t it?
Beautiful post.
Thanks, Becky.
Unless you’re a tick. And then you forfeit any right to eat.
Awesome shot, though!
Eweee…so NOT fond of ticks…or mosquitoes for that matter!
